4 stars for Wildflower Crown by Charlotte Cypress.

Abandoned as a baby, Wild is left to be raised at the hands of a vile woman
named Missy.  After being caught in a dangerous situation with the man she
has been promised to in marriage, Wild realizes that she possesses a
strange magical power.  To avoid persecution, she flees to the middle of
nowhere and lives in a cave with her dog, Flower.  When outlaws show up one
day and offer her a chance at a new adventure, she can’t resist.  She
agrees to infiltrate the castle of Neskia alongside the outlaws.  Their
plan is to kidnap Princess Rosabel and hold her for ransom.  Wild’s job is
to take the place of the princess in order to give the outlaws a chance to
get away.  She thinks being a princess will be fun, but she soon realizes
what a foolish choice she has made.

Daivat is a guard whose only goal in life is to become the king’s personal
royal guard.  When he is asked to guard Princess Rosabel, he sees this as
the perfect opportunity to impress both the king and queen.  Upon his first
night guarding the princess, she is kidnapped.  Of course, this infuriates
the king and queen.  Daivat learns that in order to avoid war, the princess
has been promised in marriage to Prince Cadmus of Blairford. The prince is
set to arrive at the castle at any moment, so a plan is hatched to have
Wild impersonate the princess, so the royal family of Blairford will not be
insulted by the princess’ absence.  Daivat is then commanded to keep an eye
on Wild.  As he and Wild spend more and more time together, their
attraction to one another grows.  Can they work together in order to
prevent war between the two kingdoms?

Overall, this was an okay read for me.  If you like historical romances
mixed with a bit of paranormal, this is the book for you.

4star
